Terms of use

These terms apply when you use FIEND’s website, its dashboard, the public pages it hosts, and the FIEND desktop app. By signing in or using FIEND you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use FIEND.

What FIEND is

FIEND is a community tool for Discord servers and TikTok LIVE streams. It is an independent service. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Discord Inc., TikTok, or any other platform it connects to. Their names are used only to describe what FIEND works with.

Your account and your server

You sign in with your Discord or TikTok account. You are responsible for the accounts you connect and for the actions your server’s managers take in FIEND. Only people with permission to manage a server can change its FIEND settings.

Acceptable use

You must not use FIEND to:

  • harass, threaten, or target any person, including in commands, messages, or pages;
  • break the rules of Discord, TikTok, or any other platform you use with FIEND;
  • publish content that is unlawful, hateful, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
  • attempt to access another person’s account, server, or data, or to disrupt the service.

FIEND may suspend or remove a server, a page, or an account that breaks these terms, and will say why where it can.

The service

FIEND is provided as it is and as it is available. Features depend on the platforms FIEND connects to, and they can change or stop when those platforms change. [CONFIRM: any service-level commitment, and what happens to a paid plan if one is introduced.]

Liability

[CONFIRM: the limits of liability and the warranties the law allows the operator to exclude. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited by law.]

Ending and changes

You can stop using FIEND at any time, and you can remove a server’s FIEND setup from the dashboard. The operator may change these terms, and will show the date of the latest version above.

Law that applies

[CONFIRM: governing law and the courts or forum for disputes.]

Privacy notice

This notice explains what FIEND does with personal information. [CONFIRM: the controller and its role under the data protection law that applies.]

What FIEND handles

  • Sign-in details: your Discord or TikTok account identifiers and display name, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in.
  • Server settings: the configuration you set for your server, including channels and roles you choose.
  • Member data: Discord member IDs, server display names, and the Points, levels, and redemptions a member earns or spends.
  • Stream events: TikTok LIVE events, such as chat, likes, follows, and gifts, used to award Points, trigger commands, and drive alerts. [CONFIRM: what is kept from chat messages, and for how long.]
  • Activity logs: records of changes and events in a server, for its managers to review.
  • Public page content: what a streamer chooses to publish on their page, including any contact details they choose to show.

Why FIEND uses it

To run the features you turn on, keep your account and server secure, answer your support requests, and keep the service working. [CONFIRM: the legal basis for each purpose.]

Who processes it

FIEND uses hosting and infrastructure providers to run the service. [CONFIRM and list each provider and where data is stored.] FIEND does not sell personal information and does not show advertising.

Cookies

FIEND uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in. [CONFIRM: any other cookies or storage.]

How long it is kept

[CONFIRM: retention for each category above. Removing a server removes its FIEND data, subject to the exceptions in the operator’s retention policy.]

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export, or delete the personal information FIEND holds about you, and to object to or restrict some uses. Contact the operator using the details below. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

[CONFIRM: the minimum age to use FIEND, consistent with Discord’s and TikTok’s age rules.]

Public pages

A streamer’s public page at fiend.gg/user/<name> is visible to anyone with the link, and to search engines when the streamer allows it. What the page shows is chosen by the streamer. Follower counts on an advertiser info deck are the streamer’s own figures; FIEND does not check them, and the page says so.

Links on a page go to other websites that FIEND does not control. Their privacy practices are their own.
